JHA wrote the Activity Plan in support of the successful Round 2 NLHF application
Julia Holberry Associates, with Alis Templeton, worked with Hastings Pier and White Rock Trust, a community-based and largely volunteer run organisation in Hastings, to write an Activity Plan for the currently closed Hastings Pier. The project aims to rescue, restore and reinvigorate the Pier (formerly renowned as the ‘Peerless Pier’) by rebuilding its structure and creating a new heritage centre which tells the story of the Pier and Hastings through a community archive, digital interpretation and programme of seasonal activities such as talks, films and festivals.
For the Activity Plan, we reviewed previous public consultation undertaken by volunteers and the Pier architects, and consulted further with local residents, particularly young people, about the new heritage centre.
Hastings Pier was awarded their Round 2 funding of £11.4 million towards the total project cost of £13.9 million in November 2012.
