Sheffield General Cemetery is a magical place and yet spooky place in the heart of a densely populated suburb of Sheffield. It is a haven for wildlife in the heart of the city. People who use it regularly love its peace, tranquillity, wildlife and history; those who do not know it so well find the Cemetery threatening and unsafe because it is so overgrown.
In consultation with the public, stakeholders and volunteers, JHA wrote the Activity, Access, Interpretation and Marketing Plans, to tell the story of the Cemetery and its famous occupants, making that history more accessible and designing activities and events to engage new audiences. The project is currently in its delivery phase.
