A new Record Office for Suffolk

The Suffolk Record Office and University Campus Suffolk (UCS) moved a step closer to their vision of creating The Hold with their Round 1 application to the NLHF Major Grants Fund.

The partnership hopes to create a facility that combines a much-needed, new Record Office with state-of-the-art teaching facilities for Suffolk’s growing University, which will transform the delivery of the services across the county. The Hold’s activity programme will be wide-ranging but has at its heart the Mapping Suffolk’s Stories project,  which was born out of the extensive public consultation undertaken by JHA.  The project will involve whole communities and interest groups across Suffolk, working together to research and digitise Suffolk’s historic maps to create an online resource.
