Luton’s Wardown Park Museum has been awarded £1.8m from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) to conserve the historic building and transform the way its story is told.
The project will see new areas of the building opened up and the ground floor improved and furnished to give visitors an insight into a wealthy family home during the Victorian period. Volunteers and staff will create costumed tours, talks and special events to bring the story to life. A new café will allow access to the park, and a new art gallery will double up as a venue for weddings and exhibitions.
Julia Holberry Associates mentored Wardown Park in writing their Activity Plan, Business Plan and the Round 2 NLHF application.
