JHA considered the location options for the Royal Marines Museum in Portsmouth and are now supporting their Round 1 NLHF bid to be able to achieve the relocation
The Royal Marines Museum is based in the former barracks of the Royal Marine corps at Eastney Barracks in Portsmouth. They employed Julia Holberry Associates, together with architects Levitt Bernstein and quantity surveyors, to examine the options for moving the Museum to an alternative location.
The consultation was wide ranging, including the Ministry of Defence, the Friends of the Museum, the Royal Marines Association and serving Royal Marines. We collated opinion and made the recommendation to move location. Our recommendation included plans and costs, and demonstrated how the proposed building could work for the Museum’s displays and visitor facilities.
Julia is now helping the Museum to develop its vision further and is advising them on the content and style of their Round 1 NLHF submission.
