We held a stakeholder workshop in September to report the findings and discuss the final shape of the project.
Westminster University’s Regent Street campus is home to the cinema that showed the first moving film in the UK, screened by the Lumiere brothers in 1897. The University wants to turn the space into a public arts cinema, with a strong heritage programme of both films and associated participative activities, plus an exhibition space to display their extensive archive.
Julia Holberry Associates advised on the content and wording of the Regent Street Cinema’s Round 1 HLF application and undertook research to provide missing audience data to evidence the demand for their project. The project was awarded £1 million for the NLHF in 2011.
