JHA supported the Round 1 application and went on to write the Activity Plan and Business Plan for the successful Round 2 NLHF bid
The University of Westminster’s Regent Street campus contains a cinema that screened the first moving film in the UK, organised by the Lumière brothers in 1897. The University wants to turn the space into a public arts cinema, with a strong heritage programme (both for films and activities), supported by an archive and educational activities.
In partnership with another consultancy, Julia Holberry Associates wrote the Activity Plan and Business Plan for the Cinema. Both documents were used in support of external funding bids, the major one being for the NLHF, which secured £1.5 million for the project.
The work involved consultation with stakeholders and with the public to seek out a vision for the cinema; a market assessment, and comparator and competitor research. We devised the activity programme for the educational work, interpretation and archive and supported the formulation of the cinema programme and the business plan.
